A 7th Grade Life Skills Workshop, presented by Brylee Beeter with the South Prairie FFA, took place on Feb. 13 and 14. The workshop engaged 50 seventh-grade students in learning essential life skills, with a focus on setting and achieving S.M.A.R.T. goals — ensuring they are Specific, Measurable,Attainable, Relevant and Time-Oriented.

Students participated in interactive team-building activities designed to enhance their communication and problem-solving skills. In one exercise, they formed a circle while holding hands and worked together to pass a hula hoop around without letting go. Another challenge involved a cup-stacking competition, in which students had to build a pyramid without directly touching the cups, using only a rubber band and strings.

Following the activities, students reflected on their experiences, discussing the skills they had developed and how they could apply them in real-life situations. The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for students to build teamwork, critical thinking, and goal-setting abilities in a fun and engaging way.

Starting at $2.99/week.
