Snowplow driver injured in crash near White Earth

WHITE EARTH – The driver of a North Dakota Department of Transportation snowplow was injured in a crash on U.S. Highway 2 near White Earth on Wednesday.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 3:30 p.m. The snowplow was traveling west on the highway in the right lane with its blade down. A passenger vehicle was behind the plow truck.
A commercial motor vehicle (CMV) was also westbound on the highway and approached the passenger car and the plow truck. The CMV braked and moved into the left lane. The CMV struck the guard rail, lost control and then struck the DOT plow truck.The plow truck was pushed into the guard rail, causing it to overturn.
The driver of the plow truck had serious injuries. The driver of the CMV was uninjured. He was cited for careless driving: snow removal equipment.
