Aashur Olson
Aashur Olson, of New Salem, regularly performs with the Bismarck Symphony Orchestra as well as the Olson Brothers Trio. Recently he was the featured solo violinist with the Minot Symphony Orchestra.
Olson was this year’s winner of the Young Artist Competition hosted by MSO each year.
Olson, a senior student, performed “Saint-Saens’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso” on violin.
“I grew up being homeschooled and part of the curriculum was watching orchestra videos. I think that is where I first started to take an interest in the violin.” Olson said.
To prepare for performances, he said, “I play two hours each time I practice, making sure to focus on the parts I need to work on and perfect.”
