The Minot City Band presents the majority of its concerts in Minot’s Oak Park during the summer months and in the Scandinavian Heritage Park for the Midsummer Festival.

The group always takes part in the North Dakota State Parade, riding on a bandwagon and performing along the parade route.

Dr. David Rolandson, chair of the Division of Performing Arts, associate professor of music and director of bands at Minot State University, is director of the Minot City Band.

The band’s beginning goes back to 1904, but the band initially got together only occasionally. It later began meeting and performing regularly.
