Local law enforcement apprehends fugitive
A Minot man with two active felony warrants was arrested by local law enforcement and charged with new drug-related offenses on Tuesday.
According to City of Minot information, Minot Police identified a vehicle driven by David Watson, 42, and confirmed that he had two active felony warrants – one for fleeing law enforcement and another for federal probation revocation.
The Ward County Narcotics Task Force conducted surveillance and followed Watson to a gas station in southwest Minot. Law enforcement officers initiated a tactical maneuver to block the suspect’s vehicle and prevent fleeing. Watson put his vehicle into reverse, striking two law enforcement vehicles. Officers successfully stopped the vehicle and apprehended Watson without further incident.
Searching Watson, officers discovered 243 grams of methamphetamine, 1,100 “M30” fentanyl pills and U.S. currency suspected to be narcotics proceeds.
Watson has been charged with possession with intent to distribute-methamphetamine over 50g, a Class A felony; possession with intent to distribute-fentanyl over 40g, a Class A felony; and reckless endangerment, a Class B misdemeanor.
