Fort Stevenson holds Evening Hike Series
GARRISON – The public is invited to step into the great outdoors with the second hike in the Fort Stevenson State Park’s Evening Hike Series on Saturday, Feb. 15, according to North Dakota Parks & Recreation. Back for 2025, this series features six unique evening hikes throughout the year – perfect for nature lovers of all ages.
The self-guided adventure will begin at the visitor center with hikers experiencing the beauty of February’s Snow Moon along the trail. The trail will be lined by candle luminaries from 6:30-7:30 p.m., to light the approximately one-mile trail, the department’s news release stated. Well-behaved pets on leashes are welcome.
Participants are invited to hike, cross country ski, snowshoe or kicksled their way along the trail. Rentals for snowshoes, backcountry skis and kicksleds are available, and visitors needing to reserve equipment should contact the park office at 337-5576.
Possible weather cancellations will be posted on the park’s social media.
The park charges a $7 vehicle entrance fee unless a current ND Parks & Recreation Department annual pass is displayed. Fort Stevenson State Park is located three miles south of Garrison.
