Curry named Summit League Performer of the Week
GRAND FORKS – For the fourth time already this season, University of North Dakota (UND) thrower Kenna Curry earned the title of Kwik Star Summit League Women’s Field Peak Performer of the Week, the conference offices announced on Tuesday.
Last weekend, Curry captured a pair of titles and one runner-up finish at the UND Open.
On Friday night, she was the winner in the rarely contested indoor discus with a toss of 155-6 (47.40m), earning the crown for the fourth consecutive season at the meet.
On Saturday, Curry earned the title in the weight throw with a toss of 66-5 1/4 (20.25m) and was the runner-up in shot put with a mark of 46-9 1/2 (14.26m).
This weekend, UND will split up for a pair of meets. The Hawks will visit Fargo for the Bison Open, while select UND athletes will compete in Virginia Beach at the East Coast Invitational. Both meets are slated to take place on Friday and Saturday.
