Crude oil spill reported in Bottineau County

BISMARCK – Scout Energy Management notified the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality on Wednesday of a crude oil release that occurred five miles northwest of Maxbass, according to the department.

Initial estimates from Scout indicate12,600 gallons of crude oil released from a tank overflow, some of which sprayed off the well pad, the department reported in a news release.

Personnel from the NDDEQ are working with the responsible party and will continue to monitor the remediation.
