Crash takes life of Montana man

WILLISTON – A 20-year-old Montana man has died from injuries sustained Saturday in Williston when his motorcycle was struck by a pickup truck, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The Highway Patrol reported the driver of a Yamaha off road motorcycle was traveling west on Second Street West, approaching the intersection of Second Avenue West, at about 5:14 p.m.. An eastbound Dodge Ram 1500 failed to yield and collided with the motorcycle in making a turn onto Second Avenue West.

The motorcycle driver, from Poplar, Montana, died at a Minot hospital. The pickup driver, a 46 year old male from Williston, was not injured but was arrested for driving under the influence.

Names of the individuals were not yet released Sunday. The Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
