Area students competing LifeSmarts State Championship

Teams from area schools will be competing today at the North Dakota LifeSmarts State Championship in Bismarck, according to a news release.

LifeSmarts, a program of the National Consumer League, is a consumer education competition that challenges teens in grades 6-8 and 9-12 about personal finance, health and safety, the environment, technology and workforce development, and consumer rights and responsibilities. The goal of LifeSmarts is to create consumer savvy young people who will be well equipped for adult life in today’s complex, global marketplace.

Ten teams will compete at the 27th annual state competition hosted by the North Dakota Department of Financial Institutions at Raymond James Bohn Armory in Bismarck, including teams from Nedrose and Burke Central. The winner of the North Dakota varsity competition will advance to the LifeSmarts National Championship to be held in Chicago, Illinois.
