Applications for health scrubs academies open

The Rural Collaborative Opportunities for Occupational Learning in Health (R-COOL-Health) Scrubs Academies will be held this summer to expose middle school and high school students to a variety of different health careers.

Scrubs Academy I will be held June 23-26 in Grand Forks. The academy is open to any North Dakota student who will have completed grades 6-8 as of the camp’s date. Students will sleep in the University of North Dakota residence halls all three evenings. In addition to experiences with healthcare professionals, students are certified in Friends and Family CPR and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

Scrubs Academy II will take place July 14-17 in Minot. The academy is open to any North Dakota high school student who will have completed grades 9-11. Students spend their days in various health facilities, enjoy fun activities in the evenings and sleep in the Minot State University residence halls all three nights.
