Williston hosts wheat show

Submitted Photo Dr. David Weaver, professor at Montana State University, and Dr. Janet Knodel, professor and entomologist at North Dakota State University, gave their presentation on wheat stem sawfly at the 72nd National Hard Spring Wheat Show in Williston on Jan. 28. The wheat stem sawfly is the dominant pest of dryland wheat production across much of the Northern Great Plains. Two species of parasitic wasps provide some control naturally. Currently, no insecticides provide successful control of the sawflies. Rod Sharkey, better known as the SharkFarmer, was the keynote speaker at the show. Photo by Roger Riveland.

Starting at $2.99/week.
