Virtual series scheduled on dementia care
“Empowering People in the Dementia Care Circle,” a free virtual series, will be offered through the Alzheimer’s Association and North Dakota State University Extension, beginning Jan. 22.
The series of classes is designed to provide tools and tips to reduce stress for caregivers, family members and friends of a person living with dementia.
To register, contact the Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter or NDSU Extension.
Each class is held on a Wednesday from noon-1:30 p.m. as follows:
– “Building the Foundations of Caregiving,” Jan. 22, presenter Acacia Stuckle, NDSU Extension Emmons County.
– “The Importance of Living with Independence for Those with Dementia,” Feb. 5, presenter Ronda Gripentrog, NDSU Extension Richland County.
– “Communicating with Compassion – Successful Conversations and Dementia,” Feb. 19, presenters Erin Berentson, NDSU Extension Bottineau County, and Andrea Sailer, N.D. Brain Injury Network.
– “Responding to Dementia-Related Behaviors,” March 5, presenter Rita Ussatis, NDSU Extension Cass County.
– “When to Explore Care and Support Services,” March 19, presenters Shelly Kuntz, NDSU Extension Burleigh County, and Annette Goehring, North Dakota Assistive.
