Prairie Grit, Minot High team up for event, auction
Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports and the Minot High Magicians hockey team are joining forces for a night of community, inclusion and hockey action during Prairie Grit Night on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Maysa Arena.
Fans are invited to attend the JV game at 5 p.m. and the varsity game at 7:30 p.m., as the Magicians face off against Legacy High School, Bismarck.
Highlighting the evening will be an exclusive auction of custom game-worn jerseys. The jerseys, specially designed to feature both Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports and Minot High branding, will be worn by the Magicians during both the junior varsity and varsity games. Proceeds from the auction will be split evenly between Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports, which empowers individuals with disabilities through adaptive sports programs, and the Minot High Magicians hockey Blue Line Booster Club. Fans don’t have to be in attendance to participate. Bidding will be open online starting on Jan. 19 at https://givebutter.com/c/PGASHockeyNight.
Prairie Grit sled hockey athletes will stand alongside the Magicians as honorary captains, demonstrating the power of inclusion in sports.
During the first intermission, Prairie Grit athletes will take to the ice in a sled hockey relay, showcasing the excitement and skill of this adaptive sport.
