One person injured in two-vehicle crash
GRENORA – A Williston man was injured Friday in a two-vehicle crash on Williams County Road 5, about 1 mile south of Grenora.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred at 9:06 a.m., when a 2020 Kenworth semi driven by Anthony Brumfield, 58, Williston, was driving north on the county road and had slowed down to turn into a disposal site. As Brumfield began making a left-hand turn into the disposal site, a 2015 Freightliner service truck driven by Hunter McLean, 27, Williston, was also driving north. McLean came up over the crest of a small hill, saw the Kenworth semi and began applying the brakes. Due to the extremely icy road conditions, McLean began sliding and struck the rear end of the trailer attached to the Kenworth semi.
McLean sustained suspected serious injuries and was taken to a Williston hospital. Brumfield sustained minor injuries.
A small section of Williams County Road 5 was shut down about 9 hours while the scene was cleared.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
