NDFB celebrates animal agriculture with student art contest in March

BISMARCK – The North Dakota Farm Bureau is hosting an art contest, “Barnyard Bunch – The Awesome World of Animal Agriculture,” for fourth and fifth graders as part of NDFB Week March 9-15.

This year’s NDFB Week theme, “Celebrating North Dakota Animal Agriculture,” highlights the essential role animal agriculture plays in the state’s economy and communities. Through a variety of educational and awareness activities, the organization plans to showcase the importance of livestock to North Dakota’s agricultural legacy.

The art contest invites young artists to highlight their favorite farm animals and their contributions to North Dakota agriculture. Participants are encouraged to include one fun fact about their chosen animal to educate and inspire others. Artwork must be on an 8.5 inch by 11 inch sheet of paper and include the student’s name, grade, school and contact information on the back of the artwork. More details are available by contacting the NDFB Bismarck office. Artwork must be submitted to the office by March 7.

Winners will be announced during NDFB Week. A grade winner will be selected in the categories of:

– Creativity and originality of the theme.

– Quality of artistic composition and overall design.

Each winner will receive a $50 prize and have their artworks published in NDFB’s newsletter.

Starting at $2.99/week.
