Gov. Kelly Armstrong and North Dakota’s congressional delegation lauded the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th president of the United States.

Armstrong and First Lady Kjersti Armstrong, Sens. John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer, and Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak, all R-ND, attended the inauguration ceremony at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., on Monday.

“Today we celebrate the start of a presidency and the promise of a new era of freedom and prosperity for America and North Dakota,” Armstrong said. “We are beyond excited to begin working with President Trump to grow the economy, secure our borders, unleash American energy, support our farmers and ranchers, strengthen our military, defend the Second Amendment and protect our citizens from federal overreach. Congratulations, Mr. President, and welcome home.”

“President Trump’s inauguration is the start of getting our country back on track, and we look forward to working with the Trump administration to advance the policies and priorities important to the people of North Dakota and our nation,” Hoeven said. “Together with the Trump administration, we’ll grow our economy, tackle inflation, make America energy dominant and support our small business, including our farmers and ranchers. With President Trump in the White House and a Republican majority in the Congress, we’ll also work to secure the border and rebuild our military to ensure our nation is safe and secure. These are the priorities that the American people want to see and the ones that we’ll work to advance.”

“Today was an incredible day, and it’s really a great day for our country,” Cramer said. “After four years of weakness, we have strong leadership at the helm again, and I really look forward to working with President Trump, Vice President Vance, and their team to truly Make America Great Again. We have a lot of work to do, and it starts with confirming the nominees as soon as a few hours from right now, but I’m ready to roll up my sleeves, get to work, and help President Trump carry out his agenda.
