Minot woman dies in rollover in Traill County

BUXTON – A Minot woman has died and a Kenmare man suffered life-threatening injuries in a single car rollover in Traill County on Wednesday.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a 2001 Honda CRV was being driven north on Interstate 29, about 3.5 miles south of Buxton, when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to icy road conditions caused by snow blowing over the road. The vehicle entered the east ditch and overturned, and both occupants were ejected. Both occupants were not wearing seat belts, but it was still being determined who was driving at the time of the crash.

The 39-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the 74-year-old man was transported by air to a Fargo hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
