Minot man charged for harboring runaway
A Minot man faces multiple charges in two jurisdictions stemming from an alleged relationship with a minor and harboring the minor in Minot after she ran away from home in November.
Joshua Dennis Campbell, 19, Minot Air Force Base, made his initial appearance in North Central District Court on Thursday. Campbell has been charged with promoting or directing an obscene sexual performance by a minor, a Class A felony; and four Class A misdemeanor counts for corruption of a minor victim, luring minors by computer, harboring a runaway minor and contributing to the deprivation or delinquency of a minor.
Campbell faces identical charges in Northeast District Court in Bottineau County, and has been scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, March 25.
According to court documents, the Bottineau County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a runaway juvenile from a residence in Bottineau County on Nov. 21, 2024. The juvenile’s father reported the victim was in a romantic relationship with Campbell, whom he discovered was 19 years old. Campbell was an active-duty airman at Minot AFB at the time and resided on base.
A North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation agent and Bottineau County Sheriff’s investigators interviewed Campbell at Minot AFB. According to court documents, the minor was eventually located on Nov. 27, 2024, at a residence in Minot with Campbell.
A preliminary hearing in the Ward County case has been scheduled for Thursday, March 6.
