Man charged in assault scheduled for trial

The case of a Minot man accused of assaulting a woman at a concert at the North Dakota State Fair last summer has been scheduled for a jury trial.

Jaeger Lundeen, 24, Minot, appeared in North Central District Court in Minot on Wednesday for a pretrial conference.

Lundeen is charged with Class C felony aggravated assault for allegedly stomping on the alleged victim’s face while she and another woman were fighting on the ground at the State Fair Grandstand. Multiple eyewitnesses provided statements to law enforcement regarding the incident. According to the affidavit of probable cause, Lundeen told law enforcement in an interview that he witnessed the altercation between the two women but said he put himself between them and his group to protect them.

Judge Richard Hagar scheduled a three day jury trial beginning on July 15. Lundeen is currently out on bail.
