DOT awards funds for highway repairs, safety
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded two grants totaling more than $26 million for transportation repair and safety projects in North Dakota, according to U.S. Sen. John Hoeven, R-ND.
The funding includes 24.5 million for the I-94 State of Good Repair Project. The North Dakota Department of Transportation will use the funds to repair about 20 miles of Interstate 94 east of Bismarck, helping to address known safety concerns and modernizing the roadway infrastructure.
Another $1.9 million will go to the Marley Crossing Project. The NDDOT will evaluate design alternatives for constructing a rail-highway grade separation along N.D. Highway 1804, southwest of Trenton to address traffic congestion and safety at the crossing, while supporting future economic development in the area.
