Barn dance fundraiser to support hunger program

WATFORD CITY – The Watford City community is rallying to make a difference in the fight against global hunger with an alcohol-free, family-friendly barn dance fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 7-10 p.m. at the McKenzie County Ag Expo.

The fundraiser is in preparation for the 6th Annual Watford City MobilePack for Feed My Starving Children. The event will raise funds to cover the cost of food supplies for the packing of more than 170,000 meals at the MobilePack event scheduled for March 27-29 at the Rough Rider Center in Watford City. Every $106 raised provides 400 meals to hungry children.

Organizers are calling on community members to consider donating just two hours of their time to volunteer at the Watford City MobilePack event. In that time, each volunteer can hand-pack enough meals to feed a child for nearly an entire year. Volunteers ages 5 and older are welcome to participate.

Feed My Starving Children, a non-profit organization, provides specially formulated MannaPack meals that are packed by volunteers and distributed to people affected by abject poverty in more than 100 countries.

For more information or to sign up as a volunteer at the Watford City MobilePack event, contact Angie Hartel at angiehartel7@gmail.com.

Starting at $2.99/week.
