Ward County 4-H teams win at indoor archery match

The 2024-25 4-H indoor archery season kicked off at the Benson County Archery Match in Maddock on Dec. 7. Eight Ward County 4-H archers competed in various divisions based on age and bow type. The divisions include Beginner (ages 8-10), Junior (ages 11-13), Senior (ages 14-18), and Masters (for those 14 and older who qualify for national contests). Bow types are either Barebow, with no sights or releases, or Freestyle, which includes sights or a release.

Ward County 4-H results from this match are as follows:

Senior Freestyle Division:

– Tyson Barden, Surrey – eighth place, score: 231.

– Breanna Mindt (Minot) – 10th place, score: 219.

– Team (Barden and Mindt) – third place, combined score: 450.

Junior Freestyle Division:

– Grady Mostad, Minot – first place, score: 145.

– Tyson Perdue, Minot – third place, score: 139.

– Team (Heston Seifert of Burlington, Mostad and Perdue) – first place, score: 388.

Beginner Freestyle Division:

– Owen Peterson, Minot – second place, score: 136.

– Foxy Leavitt, Burlington – seventh place, score: 99.

– Jennings Leavitt, Burlington – ninth place; score: 10.

– Team (Peterson, F. Leavitt and J. Leavitt) – first place, score: 245.
