Produced water spill occurs near Watford City
WATFORD CITY – A pipe fitting leak caused the release of about 42,000 gallons of produced water at a well site about 24 miles southwest of Watford City on Dec. 11, according to the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division.
True Oil, LLC reported the produced water was released on location. At the time of reporting all of the produced water had been recovered.
A N.D. Oil and Gas inspector has been to the location and will monitor any additional cleanup required.
