Patriot Boot Camp assists veteran entrepreneurs
Attributes that lead to success in military service transfer well into the world of entrepreneurship, but the barriers to launching, sustaining and growing a business can be daunting in the transition from service member to veteran, according to Disabled American Veterans National Adjutant Barry Jesinoski.
In 2022, DAV acquired Patriot Boot Camp, a dynamic initiative that aids veterans, service members and spouses in becoming their own bosses as entrepreneurs. Through in-person and virtual events, current and future founders, creators and innovators receive crucial guidance and resources, including mentorship from leading business experts, Jesinoski said in a news release.
All that’s required is for a veteran or spouse to already have a for-profit business. However, veterans who have yet to generate revenue but are raising capital are welcome to apply for the camp.
The next DAV Patriot Boot Camp event will take place Feb. 5-7 at DAV’s headquarters in the Cincinnati area, and enrollment is open year-round. DAV Patriot Boot Camp programming is free of charge. Participants also will get the chance to compete for thousands of dollars in non-dilutive capital.
