MSU men No. 2, women No. 6 in final ACHA polls 2024
The Minot State University (MSU) men will head into the new year ranked No. 2 while the Beaver women held strong at No. 6 as the American College Hockey Association (ACHA) released its final Division I men’s and women’s hockey polls of the 2024 calendar year.
The Beaver men, who swept a weekend series against No. 5 Jamestown, climbed two spots to the No. 2 spot in the latest ACHA Division I men’s hockey poll released this week. MSU trails only Ohio, which remained No. 1 for the second straight ranking.
UNLV climbed to No. 3 while Liberty (Va.) slipped one spot to No. 4, and Jamestown remained at No. 5.
The MSU men (16-3-1, 12-1-0 MCH) close out the calendar year on the road this weekend playing at No. 16 Arizona tonight, then at No. 13 Grand Canyon on Friday and Saturday.
In the women’s ACHA Division I poll, the top nine teams remained unchanged with MSU holding strong at No. 6 for the third straight ranking. Liberty (Va.) held onto the top spot and was followed by No. 2 Adrian (Mich), Maryville (Mo.) at No.3, Midland (Neb.) at No. 4 and McKendree (Ill.) at No. 5.
The MSU women (13-6-1 overall, 11-5-0 WMCH) host Dakota College at Bottineau (1-4-1) this Saturday at the All Seasons Arena at 3:45 p.m. to close out the 2024 calendar year.
