Cole Webster of Des Lacs/Burlington School placed third in the fourth grade division of the “Thank a Farmer or Rancher” statewide essay contest sponsored by North Dakota Women Involved in Farm Economics.

Winners for the fourth grade were Sydney Geerts, first, Siena Rafferty, second, both of Mott/Regent School, according to a news release from the sponsors.

Winners for the fifth grade were: first, Johnnie Ray Bird of Richardton/Taylor School; second place, Emily Bohnet of Mott/Regent; and third place, Rosalea Akin of Richardton/Taylor.

Checks and personalized certificates were sent or presented to these students.
