Double D-Haw donates to local breast cancer care
Double D-Haw has announced a $25,000 contribution to Trinity Health Foundation from its Sept. 21 fundraiser in Minot.
More than 200 patrons enjoyed a seafood boil, street dance and art auction at Minot’s biggest breast cancer fundraiser. Proceeds will go toward funding a Brevera Breast Biopsy System, which will enable faster and more accurate sample collection, provide real-time biopsy results and reduce discomfort and anxiety for needle biopsy patients, according to the organization’s news release.
“It’s been great working with Double D-Haw for three years now,” said Dustry Zimmerman, director of the Trinity Health Foundation, in the release. “They have raised a significant amount of money for the Brevera Biopsy System. It’s really quite an accomplishment.”
Artists from across the state created one-of-a-kind art works that were auctioned.
“Supporting local art and artists is really important to us,” said Terry Peterson, owner of the Blue Rider, which hosted the event. “That their work helped fight breast cancer in our community is a double bonus.”
“Big, big thanks to all who put their hearts, minds, wallets and backs into the effort,” said Double D-Haw Executive Director ShaunAnne Tangney. “The generosity of the people of Minot never fails to amaze me.”
Double D-Haw also was supported by a number of generous sponsors.
Next year’s event is set for Saturday, Sept. 6.
