Amplify ND to focus on legislative advocacy
FARGO — Prairie Action North Dakota Institute has announced its upcoming Amplify North Dakota virtual event, set for Saturday, Dec. 21, at 10 a.m.
The one-hour program will demystify the legislative process and provide tools for North Dakotans to advocate effectively for the issues they care about, according to the organization’s news release.
Titled “Inside the Capitol: How the Legislature Works and How YOU Can Drive Change,” the event will feature Voter Engagement Volunteer Whitney Oxendahl and long-time board leader Carol Sawicki from the League of Women Voters. These local experts will offer a behind-the-scenes look at North Dakota’s legislative process and share practical strategies for engaging with lawmakers and making an impact.
Following their presentation, a panel of advocacy leaders will spotlight their missions, legislative priorities and ways for attendees to get involved. Panelists include: Faye Siedler, suicide prevention advocate; Erick Red Tomahawk, North Dakota Native Vote; Cody Schuler, ACLU-ND; and Ryan Nagle, North Dakota United.
