Trump selects Burgum as Interior secretary
President-elect Donald Trump said a big announcement will be formally made Friday that North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum will be secretary of the Department of Interior.
According to The Associated Press, in comments to reporters before Trump took the stage at a gala event at his Mar-a-Lago club Thursday night, Burgum said that, in recent years, the power grid is deteriorating in many parts of the country, which he said could raise national security concerns but also drive up prices enough to increase inflation.
“There’s just a sense of urgency, and a sense of understanding in the Trump administration,” Burgum said.
Burgum, with a background in business, is a two-term North Dakota governor.
