Produced water spill occurs near Arnegard
ARNEGARD – A pipeline leak resulted in a produced water spill about six miles west of Arnegard on Nov. 24, according to the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality.
Caliber Midstream estimated about 162,960 gallons of produced water were released from the pipeline, impacting surrounding agricultural land.
Produced water is a by-product of oil and gas development.
The full impact of the release was not known yet.
Personnel from the NDDEQ have inspected the site and will continue to monitor the investigation and remediation.
