Dorm leaders hold blanket drive

MINOT AIR FORCE BASE – Felicia Dole, an assistant airman dorm leader at Minot Air Force Base, had a spare blanket she was planning on throwing away, but she had the idea to donate it to For Belle’s Sake, a local rescue where she adopted her cats.

According to Dole, the shelter is at capacity and in need of blankets and other supplies.

Dole said when an airman “processes out,” or moves from the dorms into either on-base housing or private housing off-base, the base has been throwing their blankets away. The shelter’s need stood out to her, so Dole and Airman Dorm Leader Ariel Zamora took action, starting a small blanket drive. Friday morning, the large box they set out was mostly full.

Starting at $2.99/week.
