Dickens Village Festival begins in Garrison

GARRISON – The streets of Garrison will be filled with holiday cheer when the annual Dickens Village Festival begins today and continues Saturday.

The festival will also continue Fridays and Saturdays, Dec. 6-7 and Dec. 13-14.

The event turns the community of 1,500 into a Victorian town from the era of Charles Dickens.

Activities held during the festival include a nightly Dickens Festival Lighted Parade, rides on the Queen Elizabus and a horse-drawn carriage, entertainment each afternoon and evening, craft show, fruitcake toss, children’s top hat decorating, Charles Dickens’ play performances and much more.
