Officers involved in shooting

The City of Minot has reported a man died in an officer involved shooting at a residence in Minot Friday morning.

According to City information, Minot Police officers were dispatched to a southwest Minot residence following a reported domestic disturbance. Minot Central Dispatch received a call with sounds of an argument between a male and female, and overheard threats of using a firearm.

Officers arrived at the scene of the incident, and two officers discharged their department-issued firearms. The male involved in the reported domestic disturbance was struck and pronounced dead at the scene.

The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave in accordance with protocol, and the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation has taken over the investigation.
