MCDC hires executive director
The Magic City Discovery Center has named Michael McCloud as its new executive director.
McCloud will start Oct. 9, according to a news release from the discovery center. McCloud brings a wealth of experience in leadership, management and planning, most recently serving as the facility director at the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch.
His background includes more than 18 years of supervisory experience with the North Dakota Highway Patrol and a strong track record in grant writing, organizational management and public speaking. His commitment to community safety and education, coupled with his experience in strategic planning and facility management, make him the perfect fit to lead the Magic City Discovery Center into its next chapter, the center board announced.
McCloud steps into the role following the retirement of Wendy Keller, who has been instrumental in the establishment, growth and success of the discovery center. Keller’s vision and leadership have helped solidify the discovery center as a premier location for interactive learning and creativity in Minot.
“Michael’s leadership and management skills align perfectly with the vision of the Magic City Discovery Center. We are confident that his guidance will continue to foster growth and innovation, ensuring that the discovery center remains a cornerstone for learning and discovery in our community,” Board President Dave Schwengler said.
