HVAC malfunction fire occurs at Williston clinic
WILLISTON – The Trinity Clinic building in Williston was evacuated Wednesday after a malfunction in the HVAC system resulted in a fire, according to the Williston Fire Department.
The fire department was dispatched at 1:15 p.m. in response to a call regarding smoke on the clinic’s second story, according to a news release. Evacuation was occurring as trucks arrived at the scene. The cause of the smoke was determined to be a malfunctioning component in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.
Firefighters worked with maintenance staff to isolate the malfunction and ventilate the smoke by 2:50 p.m., allowing the clinic to resume operations.
