Beef industry hosts Military Appreciation Day at fair
The North Dakota Stockmen’s Association, North Dakota Beef Commission and North Dakota CattleWomen will join forces to salute servicemen and women and their families during the 19th annual Beef Industry Military Appreciation Day July 23 at the North Dakota State Fair in Minot.
The event will include a free roast beef picnic for active-duty military, reserve and National Guard members and their families, music from the National Guard Band, along with children’s activities.
Event organizers are looking for volunteers to help serve food and drinks, clean tables and visit with military personnel. To volunteer, contact the Stockmen’s Association.
The event will be located near the Commercial II Exhibit Building on the state fairgrounds. The meal will be served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. or until the food is gone.
“It’s a chance to say thanks to our nation’s heroes and to give them a great beef-eating experience so they can advocate for our product wherever their travels take them,” said Stockmen’s Association President Jason Leiseth, an Arnegard cow-calf producer.
