Disorderly resident arrested for terrorizing
A Minot man who threatened a neighbor and police with a firearm was arrested Tuesday and charged with terrorizing and other offenses, according to the Minot Police Department.
The department received reports of a disorderly male at a southeast Minot residence Tuesday at about 6:14 p.m. Officers arrived at the residence and discovered the reporting victims were approached by their neighbor, who threatened them with a firearm.
The suspect, Matthew Tyrique Richards, 21, Minot, was approached by officers at his residence. Richards fled on foot, and officers located and detained him in a nearby backyard. While being detained, Richards pulled out a firearm and threatened officers. Officers disarmed Richards and transported him to the Ward County Jail.
Richards is charged with terrorizing and preventing arrest, both Class C felonies; refusal to halt, a Class B misdemeanor; and false information to law enforcement and unlawful possession of a firearm by persons prohibited, both Class A misdemeanors.
