County commissioner seeks reelection through write-in
Ward County Commissioner Jim Rostad has announced his write-in campaign to continue serving on the commission.
“I have found this experience to be both rewarding and satisfying. As an internal part of the commission these last eight years, I think I share in the credit, along with my fellow commissioners, for continuing to keep a very close eye on the budget and taxes. I do think I played a part in convincing Ward County voters to approve the half cent sales tax, which has allowed the taxpayer savings in paying off the Ward County Administration Building much earlier than planned, and this tax will continue to serve Ward County residents in improving and maintaining our roads for 20 years to come,” Rostad said.
“I do think I’ve earned another term on the commission as I believe I’ve been very responsive to most all of the questions and responsibilities to all the residents throughout Ward County,” he added.
Write-in candidates must receive at least 300 votes and finish in the top six on the June 11 primary ballot to advance to the general election in November.
Other write-in candidates in the race are Ashley Gulke, Miranda Schuler, Zach Raknerud and Ron Merritt. Shelly Weppler and Jedidiah Rader have filed and will be on the ballot. Three positions will be filled in November.
