The Magic City Discovery Center will be hosting a Volunteer Information Session on Friday, June 7, in the Community Room on the second floor of the discovery center from 8:30-9:30 a.m.

Learn about volunteer opportunities available at the discovery center, such as helping with group trips, assisting in the art studio, working with the education team and more.

Participants also will meet staff, tour of the entire museum and have a light breakfast.

Volunteers interested in signing up can receive assistance in using the VolunteerLocal platform and receive a tutorial on how to navigate a variety of the volunteer shifts.

Perks that come with volunteering at the discovery center include free admission on the day of the shift and 10% off in the gift shop.

“Volunteers are a very important part of our organization.” said Keegan Meeks, discovery guide supervisor for the Magic City Discovery Center, “They ensure our center is clean and welcoming and are a valuable asset to helping us continue to offer extra events and programming.”
