Tank leak occurs at well location

BISMARCK – The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division was notified of an oil release occurring Friday, Jan. 26, at a well location in Mountrail County, about 15 miles from Powers Lake.

Liberty Resources Management Company, LLC, reported on Monday that 12,600 gallons of oil were released due to tank leak. The product was contained on-site and cleanup is underway. At the time of reporting, 7,350 gallons of oil had been recovered.

A state inspector has been to the location and will monitor any additional cleanup required.
