Jesse Reid, 31, and Cassandra Anne Reid, 31, are each charged in district court in Ward County with Class B felony child abuse of a 7-week-old baby boy in January.

Both are scheduled to make initial appearances on the charges today before Judge Todd Cresap.

According to court documents, Cassandra Reid brought the baby to the hospital on Jan. 28 with facial injuries including bruising, swelling, and a scratch, facial fractures in multiple stages of healing, and a tongue laceration.

A doctor told authorities that the baby’s injuries were inconsistent with any of explanations provided by Cassandra Reid.
