Brittany Marie Mosser, 28, Minot, is charged in district court in Minot with Class B felony possession of methamphetamine and Class B felony possession of heroin in the Ward County Jail on Wednesday. She is also charged with Class C felony possession of drug paraphernalia. Her co-defendant, Cayden Allan Holmes, 30, of Minot, is charged with Class C felony possession of heroin, Class C felony possession of methamphetamine, Class C felony possession of a concealed weapon, and Class C felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Holmes was stopped on Wednesday for a window tint violation on his 2020 Mercury Mariner. An officer from the Ward County Narcotics Task Force requested the help of the Minot Police Department in stopping the vehicle. Mosser was a passenger in the vehicle. According to the affidavit, Holmes had piled up several items within the vehicle and stuffed them between his right leg, the seat, and the center console and seemed to be trying to hide something. He was shaking and appeared to be nervous. The officers asked him for consent to search the vehicle. He was asked what he was hiding and Holmes uncovered a large knife in a sheath with a blade over 5 inches. The pair were detained and the vehicle was searched after Holmes’ probation officer consented. The search turned up drugs and drug paraphernalia, including a mirror with meth residue, a bong, a meth pipe, baggies and a container with meth residue in various locations. Holmes allegedly asked officers if they had found the “dope” he gave Mosser and believed she had put it in her purse. Holmes and Mosser were warned that there would be additional charges if they had drugs on them within the jail. Both Holmes and Mosser denied that they had any narcotics on them but, when Mosser was searched at the jail she had two grams of methamphetamine and 1/10th of a gram of heroin concealed on her person, according to the affidavit.
