Jarreau Seaphus, Minot, charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, domestic violence
Jarreau Alvin Seaphus, 39, Minot, is accused of putting a vehicle into reverse and dragging two women who were standing by the open driver’s side door for several feet down a driveway during a domestic violence altercation on Sunday. The women suffered road burns that required medical treatment.
Seaphus is charged in district court in Minot with two Class C felony counts of aggravated assault, two Class C felony counts of reckless endangerment, two Class A misdemeanor counts of domestic violence causing bodily injury, and one Class A misdemeanor count of disobedience of a judicial order, all connected with an incident on Sunday.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Seaphus and the women were arguing in the driveway of a residence. When one of the women got in her 2002 Pontiac Sunfire to leave, Seaphus jumped on top of the car, yelling for the woman to get out of the vehicle. He then jumped to the ground, opened the door, and pulled the woman out of the car and then got behind the vehicle himself. Both women were standing on the driver’s side of the vehicle. The driver’s side door was open. Seaphus started the car and put the vehicle in reverse. He then accelerated and the two women were knocked to the ground by the door and dragged several feet. Seaphus got out, helped one of the women up and then fled on foot. He was later located and taken to jail.
