Skye Miller, Jerome Fletcher charged following heroin/fentanyl drug buy

Skye Jordan Dakota Miller, 28, Minot, is charged in district court in Minot with Class B felony delivery of heroin laced with fentanyl to an officer working with the Ward County Narcotics Task Force on Tuesday. His alleged supplier, Jerome Bradley Fletcher, 43, is charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and possession with intent to deliver heroin laced with fentanyl, both Class B felonies, and Class C felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to probable cause affidavits filed with the court, Miller offered to sell the officer half a gram of heroin for $150 or a gram of heroin for $300. Miller delivered 1.5 grams of heroin to the agent. The heroin later tested positive for a fentanyl compound. Miller was arrested and searched and the search also turned up a spoon with a cotton ball and suspected drug residue. Miller also had black tar heroin wrapped in tinfoil and a hollowed-out pen tube with suspected drug residue on his person.

Miller told the agent that Fletcher was his supplier and Fletcher still had more heroin and methamphetamine in his possession.

The Ward County Narcotics Task Force obtained a warrant for Fletcher’s residence. The search turned up a digital scale with suspected drug residue on the kitchen counter. Fletcher was not home, but his wife gave officers information about the rental car that Fletcher had been driving. Police located the vehicle turning north from East Burdick Expressway onto 27th Street SE and followed it until it stopped in an alleyway between Railway and 6th Avenue NE. Fletcher was driving and Kalah Lee Mello, 29, was a passenger. Both were detained. Fletcher was placed under arrest for the drug paraphernalia found at his residence and was searched. The search turned up a cigar package that contained 2 or more grams of suspected heroin laced with fentanyl in his pocket. The car was searched and officers found a pen tube and used syringe on the passenger front seat where Mello had been sitting. Two bags, one containing about 1/2 ounce and the containing abut 1 gram of suspected methamphetamine were found between the passenger front seat and console.

Mello pleaded guilty on Wednesday to Class A misdemeanor possession of methamphetamine and Class A misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Court records show that Judge Richard Hagar gave her a deferred imposition of sentence for 360 days. He also ordered Mello obtain a chemical dependency evaluation and to pay court costs.

Miller made an initial appearance on the charges on Wednesday before Hagar, who set his bond at $10,000 cash or corporate surety and scheduled a preliminary hearing for March 12. Hagar set bond at $20,000 for Fletcher. A preliminary hearing for Fletcher is also scheduled for March 12.

Starting at $2.99/week.
