The Wyatt at Northern Lights opens

The Wyatt at Northern Lights, a new apartment community, has opened in Minot at 1410-30th Ave. NW.

The complex includes 276 units of one, two and three-bedroom units, ranging in size from 758 to 1,324 square feet.

Community amenities at The Wyatt include a clubhouse with a movie theater, fitness center, business center and coffee cafe. Residents will also have access to an indoor swimming pool, hot tub and men’s and women’s saunas in the clubhouse. These types of amenities are rare for apartment communities, said Bob Weidauer, chief executive officer of Westcorp Management Group, which developed the project.

“These are generally seen as luxury or country club-type amenities, so we are thrilled to be able to offer them to our residents,” he said.

All of The Wyatt’s units include granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, wood cabinetry, walk-in closets and a washer and dryer. Single-car garages are available to lease for an additional monthly charge. Up to two pets are allowed per residence.

“These brand-new homes have a modern look that fits with today’s design stylings,” Weidauer said. “They are homes our residents will look forward to coming to at the end of the day.”

Rents range from $1,149 to $1,500. A couple of units already are leased. Additional interest has been occurring in the brief time since active leasing began, said community manager Jessica Larson.

Larson is a North Dakota native and a certified property manager. She comes to WestCorp from Goldmark Property Management, where she worked for the last 10 years. At Goldmark, she managed apartment buildings, townhomes and other types of multi-family properties.

The Wyatt at Northern Lights is WestCorp Management Group’s first new community development outside of its home state of Nevada. The group worked with local engineers and subcontractors to build the project. With The Wyatt, WestCorp Management Group now manages or provides management-related services for apartment communities in 10 states throughout the country.

“We know that there is a great need for housing in North Dakota and found that Minot would be the perfect place to introduce our unique brand of apartment living,” Weidauer said.

Since its inception in 2007, WestCorp Management Group has become one of the largest independent management companies in the western United States. It handles leasing and management of nearly 1,300 new apartment units in southern Nevada, including about 40 percent of the new units that have been built in the first half of this year. WestCorp is also handling management, leasing or accounting for about 16,000 units throughout 10 states.

“One of our specialties is leasing new apartment communities,” said Weidauer. “We have been especially successful at quickly leasing communities and expect our 2015 communities to experience similar success.”

The leasing office at The Wyatt at Northern Lights is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. or can be contacted at 852-9500. More information is available at www.thewyattminot.com.
