Minot’s Brass Band ends year with ‘A Bit of Mardi Graz’

The Brass Band of Minot will be ending its season on Sunday with “A Bit of Mardi Graz” concert. The concert starts at 4 p.m. at Minot State University’s Ann Nicole Nelson Hall, according to Brass Band of Minot information.

The concert is free and open to the public. Donations are accepted.

The band is directed by Wayne Schempp and consists of brass and percussion players from northwest North Dakota and range from high school students to professional music educators. The band plays British-style brass band music, providing audiences with an opportunity to experience North Dakota’s only British-style brass band. Audiences will have the opportunity to hear and see different instruments such as the flugelhorn, altonium and soprano coronet.
