Spring Fling dance recital has something for everyone

Shyanne Belzer/MDN With 21 different numbers to be performed, Rinat Mouzafarov’s dancers have a variety of well made, professional costumes with a variety of style and color.

As he celebrates the 26th anniversary of his teaching in Minot, Rinat Mouzafarov is bringing a special celebration of dance and ballet to the Central Campus stage.

Rinat Mouzafarov Institute of Dance and Ballet Theater will be presenting their Spring Fling Production on May 19 at 7 p.m. and May 20 at 2 p.m.

The Spring Fling production will showcase 21 different numbers, many of which have been worked on for 15 years since Mouzafarov began bringing unique shows such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, and more to the stage.

“It is a difficult production made of unique choreography,” Mouzafarov said. “We have very professional costumes for each number.”

Mouzafarov has worked years to ensure his dancers are talented and quality dancers. He works hard to bring shows as a gift for the community and as a celebration of dance and ballet. For his Spring Fling, only the best choreographed numbers were chosen with a wide range of talent with dancers as young as three years old all the way to adult with a range of skill.

A few of the numbers performed will come from “Star Wars,” “Curious George,” “Alice in Wonderland,” “Cinderella,” and more. His dancers will also be bringing the Can-Can to the stage for the opening number.

“We started after the Christmas show to start working and developing this difficult, professional, and unique choreography for the city,” he said. “I want to bring this as a gift to the Minot community

The final number, “Time to Say Goodbye” is to be a special performance in memory of his late friend Shirley Yvonne Archulete.

Tickets for the two performances can be purchased at Jacobsen Music, Video Magic, Lien’s Jewelry, Esoterica, and Northwest Music. Adult tickets cost $10 and children’s cost $5.

Mouzafarov says the show will be fun for all. Since it is a family show, it is perfect for children.

Starting at $2.99/week.
