Margie’s Art Glass Studios features paintings and drawings saluting military

Submitted Photo Artists across North Dakota saluted the brave men and women of the military with paintings and drawings for the Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest, hosted by the VFW Auxiliary. In addition to presenting personal tributes, students are competing for a $10,000 scholarship.

Artists across North Dakota presented personal tributes honoring the lives of veteran and active military members during the Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest, hosted by the VFW Auxiliary.

Margie Bolton, owner of Margie’s Art Glass Studios, was delighted by the incredible array of local and statewide talent.

“All of the participants did a really nice job,” Bolton said. “There were some painted decoupage, watercolors, charcoal pencil pictures, acrylic paintings along with ink and pencil drawings.”

In addition to saluting the brave men and women of the military, students are also competing for a $10,000 scholarship.

With nine entries representing the state of North Dakota, Bolton said the judges were very pleased with this year’s talent.

“Last year, the national winner was from North Dakota,” Bolton said. “I think we have a wide variety of talent who created very detailed and professional work. The drawers expressed a lot of enthusiasm and its really neat that so much talent is competing in this year’s contest.”
