DustOff, that equates to a success, as it's spending less than before.
In a world of common sense, it's still overspending what's coming in, which is what our government has been doing for many years now.
Question: is gov't too big to fail?

Ooops...I really went off-topic.
Do I think a potential military strike against Syria will be allowed to come to a vote in Congress?
Like I said before, the president has asserted he doesn't need a vote from Congress. Then have at it. Decide what to do and do it.

I wonder...could this mandate to include renewable fuel be considered a subsidy of sorts for corn growers?
No need to answer, I was being rhetorical.

"...refiners have moved away from offering an ethanol-free version of a regular unleaded option to service stations."
That's ONE example of the almost innumerable mandates and regulations our gov't places upon consumers and businesses. I know I could come up with another, but I'll let somebody else have the floor now...
"The real job creators in this economy are small businesses and entrepreneurs, and business owners have said that they would get more benefit from regulatory relief than from tax cuts."
I can agree with this statement, willgrr, especially the "regulatory relief" part.
"DICKINSON, N.D. – The option of filling a vehicle up with regular unleaded gasoline is disappearing quickly in North Dakota, and not everyone is happy about it.
"The continuation of a change that has already happened in many other parts of the country, Peace Garden State service station fuel suppliers are swiftly moving away from offering non-ethanol “87 octane” gasoline.
"Largely in response to the (EPA)-mandated Renewable Fuel Standard — which was established as part of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and was developed to ensure that transportation fuel sold in the U.S. contained a certain minimum volume of renewable fuel — refiners have moved away from offering an ethanol-free v
Locomotive: "So will our admin. listen to Putin, former KGB man that he is, or will the admin. do as it pleases about Syria?"
Veritas: "Listen to Putin ?
"What is your fascination with this illegitmate dictator who's views on western capitalism is akin to anti-Americanism loco?
"Do you...Along with Dusty & Whitler,BDGI hate America?"
Veritas, I asked a legitimate question. I didn't really expect an answer, so that makes it a rhetorical question. But suddenly, my asking the question makes me a Putin admirer and a traitor to boot.
I must have missed the date and time where I said how much I cared for Putin. Oh, yeah. It didn't happen.
It seems as though Putin's past IS being ignored by some in the media and the administration, because Putin's move for diplomacy this week is considered a viable alternative to Pres. Obama's small military strike. And don't forget Putin's NY Times editorial.
What's up with all this?
c/p locomotive: "Since the president doesn't need congressional approval, he should just get on with it. Why bother about a vote?"
This previously posted pure speculation of mine will have to do, Veritas.
Now concerning a c/p of yours: "...with that little bit of reasoning you understand your political party is made up of...well nincumpoops!"
Someone you know well is a member of that "political party" of "nincumpoops" as you so deftly labeled as such.
Seriously, how is that handled? Or rather, are you taken seriously?

Tea Tards? Let me just guess what that means, willgrr.
The left's contempt for any viewpoint not their own is palpable and unending.
Frankly, I'm sure many people that are considered Tea Tards by the left don't give a d*** what they think.
US Dept of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics
Unemployment rate in August 2013: down to 7.3%.
Just a little more until your 5% amount, willgrr. Hang on...
I recall one poster repeatedly taking bdgi to task on his mentioning Putin's leadership in Russia, asking bdgi why he hated America.
This week, that same Putin looks to take America to task, speaking "directly to the American people and their political leaders" in a US paper, no less.
NY Times 9-11-13
Putin: "No one wants the United Nations to suffer the fate of the League of Nations, which collapsed because it lacked real leverage. This is possible if influential countries bypass the United Nations and take military action without Security Council authorization.
"The potential strike by the United States against Syria, despite strong opposition from many countries and major political and religious leaders, including the pope, will result in more innocent victims and escalation, potentially spreading the conflict far beyond Syria’s borders."
So will our admin. listen to Putin, former KGB man that he is, or will the admin. do as it pleases about Syria?

Great discussion there, Veritas aka Deflect-O-Rama.
Since the president doesn't need congressional approval, he should just get on with it. Why bother about a vote?

Does this congress allow anything to come up for a vote? Legislators block decision-making like it came from behind the three-point line.

Definition of AD HOMINEM
1: appealing to feelings or prejudices rather than intellect
2: marked by or being an attack on an opponent's character rather than by an answer to the contentions made
I think namexxx aka the ray of sunshine does laser-like, focused ad hominems. Frequently.
As far as the vote in Congress, isn't it a moot point now that Putin has weighed in? The international community now has a stake in rounding up Assar's chemical weapons. Is there a time limit for this, like the one suggested by Sens. Heitkamp & Manchin?

The oblamer regime has seen the handwriting on the wall that they can't get approval. So now for the 20th time or so, oblamer will "pivot" to the economy with his "laser like focus" right after the next round of golf or fund raising trip paid for by taxpayers
